Books

i ordered several books from amazon a couple days ago. it's the best place to buy books nowadays because it's so cheap. i hate depriving myself of a trip to the book store to browse through the aisles but i'm poor! around three books would cost around $45 at borders while i just bought these four books for around $25 with "free super saver shipping" on amazon. so it's obviously more practical to buy books on amazon but i feel like i've done something wrong lol. as if i've betrayed something.

so the first two books i picked from a list of "best of 2009" or something like that, so i just skimmed over the summaries so i'm not completely sure what they are about, but i'm assuming i'll enjoy them. al pacino's authorized biography is of course because i am so obsessed with him right now. i recently watched scarface for the first time (shame on me for not having watched it sooner) and oh my sweet heavens it was so fucking good! right down to it's very '80s soundtrack. tony montana was such a bamf. hottie with the body, cutie with the booty lol. it was kind of funny how they would focus on his crazy eyes and blast the ominous music whenever he saw gina cavorting with men. but it was so well written, it's filled with awesome quotes. my favorite al pacino character is michael corleone though. and i loved the panic in needle park.

anyways there's that, and then the last book i ordered is a study on the true story of a group of boys from the local high school football team who raped a mentally retarded girl in the '80s. i think it was a pretty huge case back in the day. i found out about the story while i was reading heather matarazzo's wiki page. (lol why you ask). it was a small town and basically the locals were letting these kids get away with things because they were on the football team. sick people! it should make for a very interesting read.
