"지금, 이대로가 좋아요"
gong hyo jin and shin mina are two of my favorite korean actresses. so when i found out that they had done a movie together, i was thrilled and i just had to see the movie! written and directed by bu ji young (always inspiring to see women kick ass in male dominated fields), the story follows polar-opposite half sisters myung-ju and myung-eun on a journey that will inevitably change everything. (i know that's such a vague description but one of my biggest pet peeves is when people spoil it for others.)
twenty minutes in, i thought i had this movie figured out. but good thing i was wrong, because i was very pleasantly surprised. the acting was amazing, no surprise there, and the writing was even better, with very refreshing, honest and real dialogues between the main characters. bu ji young wrote an amazing and moving story, and she made a delightful picture of it. the complexities of the story, characters, emotions, etc., are all presented in such a simple and straightforward way leading up to the unexpected climax. this movie is definitely up there on my list. i could totally identify with both sisters which made it even better. (i mean i loved the quirky and off-beat "away we go" but i couldn't really identify with anyone).
and here are some pictures of the two actresses from a recent nylon korea photospread:

love!!
I gotta check out the movie now.
The photospread is so cute. Reminds me on Malibu and a 60s70s vibe.
