"You should always wear my clothes."

i love this movie - the adventure, the romance, the fashion, the setting - everything clicks together perfectly. i love that she gets everything she wishes for, right down to the sleeping in pajamas, even if it is only for a day. inevitably she has to go back and she knows this, but she still gets to experience that freedom she so longed for. obviously i'm not a princess, but sometimes i feel trapped in the life i'm living. i wonder quite frequently what would happen if i were to pack up and leave. take whatever i have in my savings, fly off to somewhere far from here. i don't know if i'll ever have the balls to go through with it. that's why i like ann - she had the balls to do that.

gregory peck is so handsome, charming, and funny. i love it when he tries to steal the little school girl's camera. and when he dumps ann on to his couch so that he could sleep on the bed. and i love audrey hepburn's look throughout her little excursion - the strappy leather shoes she buys on the street, the little neck scarf, and the short hairdo. it's funny how these older films always makes me nostalgic for times i've never experienced. but somehow i feel like everything was much more romantic, and there was more courting back in the day than there is today. i guess it's like remembering a certain period from your past, and somehow you forget all the problems and only remember the good times.
