i love thrifting! i had such a good haul today: a wool coat, three winter sweaters, and two vintage chanel purses! i'm absolutely thrilled with everything i got today. i'm obsessed with the coat because i've been looking for a simple, unfitted and slightly oversized one for the longest time and i found it! and for $16 nonetheless!! i got an oversized fisherman cable knit cardigan in a cream color that fits like a dream for $9 (exactly like the ones they sell at urban for $68), a pullover cable knit sweater (a la $138 alexa chung for madewell aimee sweater) for $3, a marled pullover sweater for $6, the two vintage chanel purses for $18 and $12 each. (they're both round shaped, quilted leather with the logo in the center with tassled zippers, but one's larger than the other; larger one in cream, smaller one in sand/nude).
i can't get over how amazing my haul was today.
and it was funny because it was all old ladies and then me. i overheard one of the old ladies talking to a worker about a mink coat her husband got her that she wanted to sell. she apparently has another one and no longer wanted the $4000 one from her husband. then later she was looking at these coral corduroy pants and wanted me to tell her what the size was. and she was like "i don't remember the last time i was a size 2" lol. (i love sweet old ladies. heck i hope to be one someday!) and you could just tell she was one of those awesome grandmothers who had awesome/juicy/hilarious/witty/touching stories to tell from back in the day, when she herself was a hot child in the city (or whatever). like from the movie fried green tomatoes. i wanted to befriend her and listen to her stories just like in the movie. am i weird?!?!!
