girl, put your record on

i am in love with this album! i started collecting vinyl after i asked my grandpa for his record player (which he parted with willingly). i bought this gem for super cheap and i cannot stop listening to ozzy.

my collection is not big but it's filled with goodies and goodies only. slowly but surely it's coming together. in addition to the aforementioned, i have managed to get my grubby little hands on: joy division peel session recordings, joy division unknown pleasures, 10cc greatest hits, johnny cash greatest hits, neutral milk hotel's in the aeroplane over the sea, yoko ono season of glass, elton john greatest hits vol. 1, the graduate soundtrack, diana ross all the greatest hits, and the godfather soundtrack, yessss.

i find myself gravitating toward original pressings of older records. as you listen to them, background noise and all, you begin to wonder about the things that make your copy special: who was the original owner? how many owners did this album have? who were these people and what are their stories? why did they decide to part with their records? etc. etc.

i don't like people but i do like records.
